Using the Kanban Board to Manage Tasks in Britixo?
Introduction:
The Kanban view in Britixo helps teams manage their tasks visually. Tasks are organised into columns based on their current status (e.g., Not Started, In Progress, Complete), allowing you to move them between stages easily. It’s ideal for keeping your workflow clear and flexible, especially in fast-paced environments.
How to Access the Kanban View
From the left sidebar, go to Tasks
At the top-right of the task list, click the Kanban icon (4 horizontal lines)
The Kanban board will now display tasks grouped by their status
This view is automatically sorted by the order of your task statuses, which can be customised by an admin.
How to Use the Kanban Board
Drag and Drop Tasks
Click and hold a task card
Drag it to another column (status)
Release to drop it into the new status
The task’s status will update automatically. Staff or clients may be notified, depending on your notification settings.
Task Card Information
Each task card on the Kanban board shows:
Task title
Assigned staff avatars
Due date (if set)
Priority indicator (coloured flag)
Task ID
Clicking a card opens the full task view, where you can:
Edit task details
Add comments
Log time
Attach files
Change visibility settings
Filtering in Kanban View
At the top of the board, you’ll find filtering options:
Customer
Project
Assigned Staff
Billable / Non-billable
Status
Date Range
You can combine multiple filters to narrow down the displayed tasks.
Adding Tasks in Kanban View
Click the plus icon (+) at the bottom of any column
A task creation form will appear
Fill in task details (name, due date, assignee, etc.)
The new task will be automatically added under the selected status
Reordering Status Columns (Admin Only)
Admins can reorder task statuses to change the column layout by navigating to:
Setup > Settings > Tasks > Task Statuses
Drag and drop the statuses into the desired order, and the Kanban columns will update accordingly for all users.
Tips:
Use Kanban for daily standups or sprint tracking.
Apply filters to focus on urgent or overdue work.
Drag completed tasks to the Complete column to update project progress automatically.
