Creating and Managing Project Milestones in Britixo?
Introduction:
Milestones in Britixo help you plan and monitor critical stages of a project. They’re used to mark delivery checkpoints, phase completions, or major objectives. Each milestone can be assigned a due date and linked with tasks, giving a clear overview of the project's progress toward completion.
Step-by-Step: Add a Milestone in Britixo
1. Access the Project
Go to Projects from the left sidebar
Click on a specific project to open it
2. Open the Milestones Tab
Click the Milestones tab inside the project workspace
Then click the green New Milestone button
3. Fill in Milestone Details
Name: Give the milestone a clear title (e.g. "Design Approval")
Due Date: Set the target completion date
Description: (Optional) Add context or requirements
Order: Enter a number to control milestone display order
4. Save the Milestone
Click Save
The milestone is now listed in the Milestones tab
Assigning Tasks to Milestones
Once a milestone is created:
Go to the Tasks tab within the same project
Click on a task or create a new one
In the task form, under Milestone, select the one you just created
Save the task
You can assign multiple tasks to a single milestone. Each task’s progress will contribute to the milestone completion rate.
Viewing Milestone Progress
In the Milestones tab:
Each milestone displays:
Number of tasks linked
Completed vs total tasks
Progress bar (auto-calculated from task statuses)
Milestones are automatically updated as tasks linked to them are marked complete.
Editing or Deleting a Milestone
Go to the Milestones tab
Click the Edit icon next to the milestone
Make changes to the name, due date, or description
Click Save
To delete:
Click the Delete icon (trash bin)
Deleting a milestone will not delete the tasks linked to it, but the tasks will no longer be grouped under that milestone.
Tips:
Use milestones to represent project phases (e.g. Planning, Design, Testing, Delivery)
Keep the number of milestones limited to maintain clarity
Review milestone progress weekly for accurate reporting and planning.
