Using Project Discussions to Collaborate in Britixo?
Introduction:
Britixo CRM includes a built-in discussion board for every project, helping your team and clients communicate efficiently without relying on email threads. You can start new discussions, reply with comments, and optionally allow clients to participate or keep discussions private for internal collaboration.
Step-by-Step: Using Project Discussions
1. Open a Project
Go to Projects from the sidebar
Click on a project to open its details page
2. Navigate to the Discussions Tab
In the project menu, click Discussions
You'll see a list of current discussions, if any
3. Start a New Discussion
Click the green New Discussion button
Fill out:
Subject: The title of the topic (e.g., "Client Feedback – Round 1")
Description: Initial post content
Show to Customer: Check this box if you want the discussion to be visible to the client
Click Save
The discussion is now active and will appear in the project’s Discussions tab.
Participating in a Discussion
Click any discussion title to open it
You’ll see the original post and all replies
Use the Comment box at the bottom to post a reply
Upload files or images if needed (file button below comment area)
Replies are timestamped and show the user who posted them
If Show to Customer is enabled, clients will see the thread and can comment back.
Private vs Client-Visible Discussions
You can change the visibility of an existing discussion later by editing it.
Attachments and Files
Comments can include file attachments (images, PDFs, docs)
All uploaded files are also shown in the Files tab of the project
Visibility of the file follows the visibility of the discussion
Notifications
Staff assigned to the project are notified of new comments or discussions
Clients receive a notification if they are mentioned or if the thread is visible to them
Tips:
Use separate threads for different topics to avoid confusion
Keep internal strategy and notes private using unchecked visibility
Use discussions for updates, feedback loops, and approvals.
