Before you beginThis guide follows the supplied Britixo Appointments & Scheduling module version 1.3.6. The relevant access is Appointments: Create. A menu, button, provider, time slot or client action can remain hidden when the signed-in user lacks the required permission, the module setting is disabled, the related record is in an ineligible state, or availability validation rejects the request.

What this feature does

Add a new bookable service with the duration, price, colour and provider relationships required by staff and public scheduling. It uses Britixo's permission-aware appointment, availability, status and integration flow rather than an unconnected diary entry.

How the module flow works

The Services controller requires the appropriate create access and validates submitted service data.

The service row is saved first, followed by provider relationships and the optional primary provider.

Once active, the service is available to permitted booking forms and appointment forms when at least one provider is eligible.

Step-by-step workflow

  1. Open Services and select New service.
  2. Enter the service name and description.
  3. Set duration, pre/post buffers, price, colour and active status.
  4. Assign one or more providers and choose a primary provider where required.
  5. Save and test the service in a new appointment and public form.

Important fields and decisions

NameRequired service label.
DurationAppointment length used to calculate end time.
PriceService amount available to invoice logic.
ActiveControls whether the service can be selected for new bookings.

What happens after completion

After this workflow completes, Britixo keeps the appointment and its supported relationships connected. Reopen the appointment and verify the saved status, date, timezone, customer or lead, service, provider, attendees, reminder state, calendar or meeting reference, invoice reference and history that apply to this feature. External email, SMS, Google, Microsoft or payment outcomes must be checked separately from the Britixo database save.

  • Open the saved appointment and confirm the final status and source.
  • Check the participant, provider, timing and timezone from the full detail page.
  • Review the relevant table filter, calendar, history, report or linked invoice instead of relying only on a success message.

Controls, checks and common mistakes

  • Use a realistic duration and account for preparation separately through buffers.
  • Assign only staff who actually provide the service.
  • Test timezone and working hours after adding the service.
  • Use the least destructive correction and retain the appointment history when the booking existed operationally.
  • Never bypass a permission, availability, approval, client-access or verification control by changing an unrelated route or setting.
Scheduling and data safetyAppointment changes can notify customers, reserve provider time, update remote calendars, create meeting links or invoices and alter reports. Confirm the exact record, timezone, status and recipients before saving.
