How to Enable/activate or Disable/deactivate the Existing Britixo Modules in Practice Management Software or CRM?
Intro Paragraph: Britixo practice management software comes with a range of built-in modules to support various business functions such as invoicing, support, contracts, tasks, and more. As an administrator, you have complete control over which of these modules are active in your system. Enabling or disabling modules helps tailor the CRM experience to your specific needs and ensures your users see only the features relevant to their roles. This article explains step-by-step how to manage the modules available in your Britixo system.
Accessing the Module Management Area
Log in to your Britixo admin account using your secure credentials.
From the main left-hand menu, go to Setup .
Under the Setup menu, click on Modules .
You will now see a list of all modules currently installed in your Britixo system.
Each module listed will show:
Its name and description
Whether it is currently Enabled or Disabled
An option to either Activate or Deactivate the module
Enabling an Existing Module
To activate a module that is currently disabled:
In the Modules list, locate the module you want to enable.
Click the Activate button located to the right of the module’s name.
After a brief confirmation, the module will be enabled and visible to relevant users (based on permissions).
Some modules may require additional configuration or user role permissions after activation.
Tip: Activated modules will appear in the sidebar or the relevant section of the system interface depending on their purpose (e.g., Invoices, Proposals, Projects).
Disabling an Active Module
To disable a module that is currently active:
In the Modules list, find the module you wish to deactivate.
Click the Deactivate button to the right of the module name.
The module will be disabled immediately and removed from the user interface for all users.
Disabling a module does not delete its data. You can re-enable the module at any time and all previous data will remain intact.
Warning: Be cautious when disabling modules that contain ongoing data, such as Projects, Tickets, or Invoices. While no data will be lost, it will become temporarily inaccessible until the module is re-enabled.
Things to Consider
Dependencies: Some modules may depend on others to function correctly. For example, the Invoices module may work best with the Payments module enabled.
User Roles: Even if a module is active, individual users must have the correct permissions to access it. Make sure you update role-based permissions after enabling new modules.
Custom Modules: If you have custom modules installed (like the Britixo Email module), they will also appear in the Modules list with the same enable/disable options.
System Stability: Only deactivate modules you are sure are not in use by your staff or automated workflows.
Troubleshooting Tips
If a module fails to activate, check file permissions on your server or ensure the module was uploaded correctly to /modules/your-module-name/ .
After activation, you may need to refresh the page or clear the cache to see the module in your interface.
If a module doesn’t appear in the list at all, verify that the module’s main file is named correctly (e.g., email.php ) and includes the proper header block.
The best option is to clear the cache and sign out from britixo panel, and then sign in again.
Summary
Britixo’s modular structure allows you to customise your CRM experience by enabling only the tools and features you need. Use the Modules area in the Setup section to quickly activate or deactivate modules as your practice grows or changes focus. Whether you're streamlining your workspace or experimenting with new tools, managing modules in Britixo is quick, secure, and fully reversible.
