Record contact influence and position
Capture useful business observations about the people involved in an opportunity and prepare relevant follow-up conversations.
Where to goSales CRM → Deals → Open opportunity → Manage buying team → Edit role
Before you start
Use your own authorised staff account in the intended Britixo workspace. The Sales CRM module must be available and your role must include the permissions stated above. Existing leads, customers, communications and customer portal pages retain their normal access rules.
Follow these steps
- Choose the role that describes this person’s involvement in the specific opportunity.
- Set Observed influence to Not assessed, Low, Medium or High based on the buying process you have established.
- Set Observed position to Not assessed, Supportive, Neutral or Concerns raised.
- Use Relationship notes to record relevant business context, confirmed concerns or the next conversation this person needs.
- Save the role and check the card before using the information to plan follow-up.
Behavior and limits
- Influence and position are staff observations, not predictive AI assessments or verified facts about a person. Leave Not assessed when evidence is insufficient.
- Relationship notes support up to 2,000 characters. Keep them relevant to the business relationship and avoid unnecessary personal information.
- These observations do not alter win probability, rule-based deal scores, forecasts, stage approvals, quotation terms or sales targets.
- The association is specific to this opportunity. Updating it does not change the contact’s native job title, account relationship or roles on other opportunities.
- Retired associations are read-only until restored. Archived opportunities are also read-only.
- Current notes are displayed on the contact card. Prior note text is not retained in association history; history records the action and role/influence/position metadata.
Check it worked
- Confirm the card labels and notes reflect the saved observations.
- Check that the opportunity’s value, probability and primary contact remain as intended.
Troubleshooting
- If the role was retired, an existing active association can retain it while observations are edited, or move to another active role.
- If another editor changed the association, reopen its current version before saving.
- If the native contact moved to another customer or is unavailable, its notes are hidden and the association cannot be edited.
