Learn how revenue credits preserve the exact opportunity total and why overlay recognition remains a separate measure.

Before you start

Use your own authorised staff account in the intended Britixo workspace. The Sales CRM module must be available and your role must include the permissions stated above. Existing leads, customers, communications and customer portal pages retain their normal access rules.

Follow these steps

  1. Start with the opportunity’s current value and currency.
  2. Check that revenue percentages total exactly 100%.
  3. Review the calculated amount for each revenue contributor.
  4. Review overlay amounts separately and compare their percentages with the agreed recognition.
  5. Use the saved configuration and current opportunity value when reconciling a later report.

Behavior and limits

  • Calculations use integer minor units and two decimal places for money, avoiding binary floating-point rounding in the allocation. Percentages support two decimal places.
  • Revenue is first allocated using each contributor’s exact percentage. Any remaining pennies go to contributors with the largest fractional remainders. Ties are resolved by ascending staff ID, so the result is deterministic.
  • For example, a value of 0.03 divided equally between two contributors produces credits of 0.02 and 0.01. The lower staff ID receives the remaining penny when their remainders are equal.
  • The sum of revenue credits always equals the opportunity value. A known zero value produces exact zero credits.
  • Each overlay amount is rounded independently, half up to two decimal places. The displayed overlay total is the sum of those separately rounded credits.
  • Overlay recognition may total more than the opportunity value, within the 1,000% limit. It must not be combined with revenue to describe sales, payments or commissions.
  • Currencies remain separate. No exchange-rate conversion or combined cross-currency total is performed.
  • A later change to the opportunity value recalculates credits using the current saved percentages. This is current attribution, not an immutable historical payout statement.

Check it worked

  • Add the revenue credits and confirm that they equal the current opportunity value.
  • Compare overlay totals only with the separate overlay rows.
  • Use the same currency and report filters when comparing results.

Troubleshooting

  • A one-penny difference between equal contributors can be the intended largest-remainder result. Check the exact total before changing percentages.
  • If totals differ from an older export, check whether the opportunity value, allocation, active state or accessible records changed.
  • If you need accounting revenue or commission payments, use the appropriate existing accounting or payment workflow; this feature records contribution credit only.
