Britixo integrates with Plaid, a secure banking API, to help you verify and connect your bank accounts. This enables you to automatically download real bank transactions or test the process with sandbox data. By setting up Plaid correctly, you can keep your accounting records in Britixo accurate and up to date without manual entry.

🚀 Live Environment – Connects to your real bank accounts.
Requires a Plaid account with Production Access.
Uses a live secret key from your Plaid dashboard.
🧪 Sandbox Environment – A testing mode with fake data.
Safe for development and testing workflows.
No real data is affected.
Uses a sandbox key from your Plaid account.
👉 Always test in Sandbox before switching to Live.
🔑 Plaid Credentials
When you sign up for Plaid, you’ll receive:
Client ID – Your Plaid account identifier.
Secret Keys – Separate keys for Sandbox and Live environments.
These must be entered in Britixo for authentication.
⚙️ Step 1: Create a Plaid Account
🌐 Go to Plaid’s website and sign up.
Navigate to Team Settings → Keys.
Copy your Client ID and Secret Keys.
Request Production Access if you plan to use the Live environment with real bank data.
⚙️ Step 2: Configure Plaid in Britixo
From the left sidebar, go to Accounting → Settings → Plaid Environment.
Select the environment:
🧪 Sandbox (testing)
🚀 Live (real bank data)
Enter your Client ID and the corresponding Secret Key.
💾 Save the configuration.
⚙️ Step 3: Verify Your Bank Account
Go to Accounting → Banking → Banking Feeds.
Select the bank account you want to connect.
⚙️ Click the settings icon (top-right) and choose Verify Account for Transaction Import.
🔑 Select your financial institution.
Enter your bank username and password to log in.
✅ Once successful, Britixo confirms the connection.
📥 Post-Setup Actions
⬇️ Download Transactions – Automatically fetches live transactions from your bank into Britixo.
📂 Import Transactions – Upload bank data via Excel or CSV.
🔄 Re-verify Bank Account – Reconnect if issues occur, such as failed data retrieval.
🗑️ Delete Verification – Remove the bank connection. This also deletes all imported data linked to that bank.
✅ Tip: Always begin with the Sandbox environment to test your setup. Switch to Live only after Plaid has approved your Production Access and you are ready to connect real bank accounts.
