Dedicated servers allocate the physical compute platform to one customer environment. This can matter for sustained CPU demand, very large memory footprints, database I/O, private virtualisation, specialist storage, physical isolation or GPU-accelerated workloads.

Current-generation server technology
Hardware changes quickly. These are current technology classes Britixo can design around; they are not a claim that every model is held in stock at every UK facility.
5th Gen AMD EPYC uses Zen 5 and Zen 5c architectures and scales to as many as 192 cores per processor. Current platforms provide 12-channel DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen 5 connectivity for dense virtualisation, databases, analytics, HPC and enterprise applications.
Intel's current server portfolio includes performance-core and efficiency-core architectures. Xeon 6+ extends to as many as 288 E-cores per processor, with current platforms supporting 12-channel DDR5 and PCIe Gen 5 connectivity.
ECC RDIMM configurations can be designed for large databases, private virtualisation, application consolidation and memory-intensive systems. Capacity and channel population are matched to the selected processor platform.
Enterprise NVMe storage can support latency-sensitive databases, virtual machines, analytics and high-I/O applications. Endurance, power-loss protection, drive count and recovery design are considered alongside headline speed.
Capacity storage, software RAID, hardware RAID and direct HBA designs remain appropriate for selected workloads. The storage architecture follows performance, resilience and recovery requirements rather than one universal configuration.
Dedicated network configurations can span 1, 10, 25, 40, 100, 200 and 400 GbE classes where supported by the selected hardware and facility. Public bandwidth and private networking are specified separately.
NVIDIA H200 provides 141 GB of HBM3e GPU memory and can suit memory-intensive AI inference, high-performance computing and accelerated workloads where the application supports the platform.
Current HGX Blackwell classes include B200 with 180 GB HBM3e per GPU and B300 with 288 GB HBM3e per GPU. These platforms require specialist chassis, power, cooling and networking and are quoted according to availability.
RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell provides 96 GB of GDDR7 memory for enterprise AI, rendering, simulation and professional visual-computing workloads.
Compute-dense, storage-dense and accelerator-capable chassis can be considered according to drive count, expansion, power density, cooling and serviceability requirements.
Enterprise platforms can include redundant power supplies, hot-swap storage and hardware-health telemetry where supported by the selected chassis and service design.
Remote management controllers can provide console access, power control, firmware visibility and hardware telemetry without depending on the production operating system.

UK infrastructure
Britixo offers dedicated-server options in UK facilities. Where physical location is a procurement, latency or data-strategy requirement, the selected UK facility is recorded in the final service specification.
A UK location does not by itself make a workload compliant. The organisation still needs appropriate legal basis, contracts, access controls, retention, encryption, incident management, backup and recovery arrangements.
Britixo therefore treats location as one documented part of a wider hosting design rather than using “UK hosted” as a substitute for security or governance.
Operating systems & platform software
Supported Linux distributions can be installed and managed according to application compatibility, vendor requirements and security-maintenance expectations.
Windows Server configurations can be designed where the application, Microsoft ecosystem and licensing model require them.
Linux-based virtualisation can be considered for private virtual-machine hosting where the hardware and application architecture support the model.
Hyper-V can form part of a Windows-oriented virtualisation architecture where supported and correctly licensed.
MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server and other supported database platforms can influence CPU, memory, storage and licensing decisions.

Security & resilience

Infrastructure alerts should lead to an understood response route rather than generating notifications that nobody owns.
Local disk redundancy is not a complete backup strategy. Retention, separation, restoration and recovery objectives should be designed for the actual service.
Migration
A move from VPS, cloud VM or an older physical server should be treated as an application migration rather than simply copying files.
Map applications, databases, services, ports, certificates, DNS, scheduled jobs, integrations and storage.
