Configure account type details
Maintain the detailed classifications available beneath the module's main account types and control how accounts group in reports.
What this feature does
Maintain the detailed classifications available beneath the module's main account types and control how accounts group in reports. It forms part of Britixo Enterprise CRM's Accounting & Bookkeeping module and uses the module's permission-aware controller, status and mapping flow rather than a generic spreadsheet process.
How the module flow works
The module includes a table, create/edit/delete flow, data lookup and a reset-to-default action for account detail types.
Detail types influence how users classify accounts and how financial reports can group them. They do not replace the main account type.
Resetting default values can affect a customised setup; treat the action as a controlled configuration change.
Step-by-step workflow
- Open Account Type Details.
- Review existing detail types before creating one.
- Choose the compatible main account type.
- Enter a clear detail name and save.
- Test the detail type on a non-critical account.
- Run the relevant statement to verify grouping.
- Use reset only after understanding its effect on customised classifications.
Important fields and decisions
What happens after completion
After the action is saved, Britixo keeps the Accounting record connected to its source and updates the visible status or ledger data supported by this workflow. Review the saved result rather than relying only on a success message. Where the action posts accounting data, total debits and credits must balance and the accounts must match the approved mapping or manual selection.
- Open the saved record and confirm its final status.
- Review the source reference and every debit and credit line where ledger data was created.
- Use the relevant register, ageing, reconciliation or report to verify the wider effect.
Controls, checks and common mistakes
- Avoid duplicate detail names.
- Do not move a detail type between incompatible main types.
- Restrict delete and reset permissions.
- Document custom classifications used in external reporting.
- Use the least destructive correction available and record the reason for material changes.
- Do not bypass a permission, approval or closed-period control by changing unrelated data.
