Add or edit a manual register transaction
Record a controlled manual debit-and-credit transaction directly from the registers area when no supported source document exists.
What this feature does
Record a controlled manual debit-and-credit transaction directly from the registers area when no supported source document exists. It forms part of Britixo Enterprise CRM's Accounting & Bookkeeping module and uses the module's permission-aware controller, status and mapping flow rather than a generic spreadsheet process.
How the module flow works
The controller provides register add/edit, validation, filtering and delete actions. The form is intended for direct two-sided bookkeeping entries.
For complex accruals, reclassifications or multi-line adjustments, use Journal Entry instead.
Deleting a manual transaction affects ledger balances; use delete only through an approved correction process.
Step-by-step workflow
- Confirm that no invoice, bill, expense, payment or journal workflow is more appropriate.
- Open Registers and choose Add Transaction.
- Select date, debit account and credit account.
- Enter amount, reference and an audit-ready description.
- Attach or retain supporting evidence according to policy.
- Save and reopen the transaction.
- Verify both account registers and the General Ledger.
Important fields and decisions
What happens after completion
After the action is saved, Britixo keeps the Accounting record connected to its source and updates the visible status or ledger data supported by this workflow. Review the saved result rather than relying only on a success message. Where the action posts accounting data, total debits and credits must balance and the accounts must match the approved mapping or manual selection.
- Open the saved record and confirm its final status.
- Review the source reference and every debit and credit line where ledger data was created.
- Use the relevant register, ageing, reconciliation or report to verify the wider effect.
Controls, checks and common mistakes
- Do not duplicate a source transaction already converted.
- Respect close-books controls.
- Avoid vague descriptions such as adjustment.
- Use journal entries when multiple lines are required.
- Use the least destructive correction available and record the reason for material changes.
- Do not bypass a permission, approval or closed-period control by changing unrelated data.
