Create an Accounting budget
Build a monthly, quarterly or annual ledger budget from scratch or from prior financial-year transactions.
What this feature does
Build a monthly, quarterly or annual ledger budget from scratch or from prior financial-year transactions. It forms part of Britixo Enterprise CRM's Accounting & Bookkeeping module and uses the module's permission-aware controller, status and mapping flow rather than a generic spreadsheet process.
How the module flow works
The add-budget and check-budget actions validate the requested structure before saving. Prior-year creation uses existing transactions as a starting point; it does not approve those values as the new plan.
Budget values are organised by ledger accounts and selected periods. If the Chart of Accounts changes later, review the budget mappings.
Use the report filters consistently when comparing actuals.
Step-by-step workflow
- Choose New Budget.
- Enter a clear budget name and financial year.
- Select monthly, quarterly or yearly periods.
- Choose Profit & Loss or Balance Sheet.
- Select Start from Scratch or Prior Fiscal Year Transactions.
- Review and edit every populated account amount.
- Save and run the relevant budget report.
Important fields and decisions
What happens after completion
After the action is saved, Britixo keeps the Accounting record connected to its source and updates the visible status or ledger data supported by this workflow. Review the saved result rather than relying only on a success message. Where the action posts accounting data, total debits and credits must balance and the accounts must match the approved mapping or manual selection.
- Open the saved record and confirm its final status.
- Review the source reference and every debit and credit line where ledger data was created.
- Use the relevant register, ageing, reconciliation or report to verify the wider effect.
Controls, checks and common mistakes
- Do not accept copied prior-year values without review.
- Use the correct sign convention shown by the form.
- Keep zero-value accounts only when useful.
- Document the approved version.
- Use the least destructive correction available and record the reason for material changes.
- Do not bypass a permission, approval or closed-period control by changing unrelated data.
