Create, sign and print a check
Prepare a check from approved bill payments or permitted transactions, then sign and print it through the controlled module workflow.
What this feature does
Prepare a check from approved bill payments or permitted transactions, then sign and print it through the controlled module workflow. It forms part of Britixo Enterprise CRM's Accounting & Bookkeeping module and uses the module's permission-aware controller, status and mapping flow rather than a generic spreadsheet process.
How the module flow works
The controller supports check creation, bank data lookup, number-to-text conversion, signing, signature AJAX, ending-balance checks, print, print later, clear print later and print-a-check actions.
The check PDF uses the selected configuration and vendor address data.
After issue, the check remains outstanding until it clears the bank and is reconciled.
Step-by-step workflow
- Confirm the bills are approved.
- Open New Check and select the bank account.
- Choose vendor or payee and eligible bills.
- Enter or confirm check number, date, amount and memo.
- Review the preview.
- Apply authorised signature through the supported action.
- Print now or place in Print Later, then verify the register.
Important fields and decisions
What happens after completion
After the action is saved, Britixo keeps the Accounting record connected to its source and updates the visible status or ledger data supported by this workflow. Review the saved result rather than relying only on a success message. Where the action posts accounting data, total debits and credits must balance and the accounts must match the approved mapping or manual selection.
- Open the saved record and confirm its final status.
- Review the source reference and every debit and credit line where ledger data was created.
- Use the relevant register, ageing, reconciliation or report to verify the wider effect.
Controls, checks and common mistakes
- Do not sign blank checks.
- Do not print duplicate numbers.
- Keep the printed amount and bill allocation identical.
- Secure failed print copies and void them when necessary.
- Use the least destructive correction available and record the reason for material changes.
- Do not bypass a permission, approval or closed-period control by changing unrelated data.
