Configure Sales CRM staff access
Understand viewing, creation, editing and approval permissions without changing access to unrelated CRM records.
Where to goExisting staff or role permissions → Sales CRM
Before you start
Use your own authorised staff account in the intended Britixo workspace. The Sales CRM module must be available and your role must include the permissions stated above. Existing leads, customers, communications and customer portal pages retain their normal access rules.
Follow these steps
- Open the existing staff or role permission editor used by your workspace.
- Grant View own deals for owner-scoped access or View all deals for broader sales visibility, according to the person’s job.
- Separately choose Create deals, Edit accessible deals and Approve deal stage changes when needed.
- Have the staff member sign in normally and verify their menu, visible deals and permitted actions.
Behavior and limits
- Viewing permission is required to open Sales CRM. Create or Edit alone does not grant access.
- View own deals is based on the current owner, not the original creator. A reassigned deal may no longer be visible to its creator.
- Only staff with View all deals can assign opportunities to another eligible owner.
- Pipeline setup, custom fields and target configuration are administrator functions.
- Sales access does not grant access to linked leads, customers, contacts, mailbox messages or other native records. Those checks remain separate.
- Approval requires access to the deal and a reviewer different from the requester.
Check it worked
- Verify a staff member can open an owned deal and cannot open an inaccessible deal by its direct URL.
Troubleshooting
- If the Sales CRM menu is missing, check module availability and viewing permission.
- If an owner is absent from the selection list, verify that the person is active staff and has Sales CRM viewing permission.
