Enable Appointments permissions
Grant the minimum View, Create, Edit, Delete, Approve and View Reports capabilities required by each staff role.
What this feature does
Grant the minimum View, Create, Edit, Delete, Approve and View Reports capabilities required by each staff role. It uses Britixo's permission-aware appointment, availability, status and integration flow rather than an unconnected diary entry.
How the module flow works
The module registers six separate capabilities: View, Create, Edit, Delete, Approve and View Reports.
Menu children are conditional: Services, schedules and Settings require Edit; Reports requires View Reports; appointment creation and status actions also enforce their relevant permission.
Non-administrator users see appointment records only when they created the record, are the provider or are listed as an attendee where the query applies assignment filtering.
Step-by-step workflow
- Open the role used by appointment staff.
- Enable View so the Appointments workspace can appear.
- Add Create and Edit only for staff who schedule or maintain records.
- Grant Approve to staff who process pending bookings, cancellations and reschedules.
- Grant View Reports separately to managers who need analytics.
- Sign in with a test account and verify the visible menu and record scope.
Important fields and decisions
What happens after completion
After this workflow completes, Britixo keeps the appointment and its supported relationships connected. Reopen the appointment and verify the saved status, date, timezone, customer or lead, service, provider, attendees, reminder state, calendar or meeting reference, invoice reference and history that apply to this feature. External email, SMS, Google, Microsoft or payment outcomes must be checked separately from the Britixo database save.
- Open the saved appointment and confirm the final status and source.
- Check the participant, provider, timing and timezone from the full detail page.
- Review the relevant table filter, calendar, history, report or linked invoice instead of relying only on a success message.
Controls, checks and common mistakes
- Keep Delete and Settings access restricted.
- Test permissions with a non-administrator account.
- Remember that contact portal access is controlled separately through contact permissions.
- Use the least destructive correction and retain the appointment history when the booking existed operationally.
- Never bypass a permission, availability, approval, client-access or verification control by changing an unrelated route or setting.
