Prepare Appointments & Scheduling for production use
Complete the operational checklist required before staff or customers begin making bookings.
What this feature does
Complete the operational checklist required before staff or customers begin making bookings. It uses Britixo's permission-aware appointment, availability, status and integration flow rather than an unconnected diary entry.
How the module flow works
The module installs default services and assigns them to the first administrator, but those defaults must be reviewed before real use.
Public slot calculation depends on active services, assigned active providers, valid weekly hours, blocked dates and non-conflicting appointments.
Email reminders and recurring generation depend on the CRM cron; Google and Outlook features require their own application credentials.
Step-by-step workflow
- Review or replace every default service.
- Assign the correct providers and select a primary provider.
- Set company opening hours and provider overrides.
- Add holidays and blocked dates.
- Configure appointment permissions and customer contact permission.
- Review public form text, terms, reCAPTCHA and service visibility.
- Configure email templates, SMS triggers and cron.
- Test calendar integration and invoice behaviour only if required.
Important fields and decisions
What happens after completion
After this workflow completes, Britixo keeps the appointment and its supported relationships connected. Reopen the appointment and verify the saved status, date, timezone, customer or lead, service, provider, attendees, reminder state, calendar or meeting reference, invoice reference and history that apply to this feature. External email, SMS, Google, Microsoft or payment outcomes must be checked separately from the Britixo database save.
- Open the saved appointment and confirm the final status and source.
- Check the participant, provider, timing and timezone from the full detail page.
- Review the relevant table filter, calendar, history, report or linked invoice instead of relying only on a success message.
Controls, checks and common mistakes
- Use a test customer and provider before publishing.
- Do not assume default services match the organisation's commercial offer.
- Check timezone, date format and calendar first-day settings.
- Confirm email and SMS delivery with a non-production record.
- Use the least destructive correction and retain the appointment history when the booking existed operationally.
- Never bypass a permission, availability, approval, client-access or verification control by changing an unrelated route or setting.
