Troubleshoot a hidden Appointments menu
Identify why the Appointments parent menu or one of its child pages is not visible to a staff member.
What this feature does
Identify why the Appointments parent menu or one of its child pages is not visible to a staff member. It uses Britixo's permission-aware appointment, availability, status and integration flow rather than an unconnected diary entry.
How the module flow works
The parent menu requires View access; Services, schedules and Settings require Edit; Reports requires View Reports.
A staff user can have a menu but still see a restricted record set because non-administrator queries can be limited to creator, provider or attendee relationships.
The module resets the custom sidebar-menu option on activation so newly installed menu items can appear, but later custom menu changes can still affect presentation.
Step-by-step workflow
- Confirm the module is active.
- Open the staff member's assigned role and review Appointments capabilities.
- Verify the staff account is active and using the expected role.
- Check whether the missing item has an additional capability such as Edit or View Reports.
- Reset or review custom menu configuration only when permissions are correct.
- Sign out and sign back in to refresh the menu.

What happens after completion
After this workflow completes, Britixo keeps the appointment and its supported relationships connected. Reopen the appointment and verify the saved status, date, timezone, customer or lead, service, provider, attendees, reminder state, calendar or meeting reference, invoice reference and history that apply to this feature. External email, SMS, Google, Microsoft or payment outcomes must be checked separately from the Britixo database save.
- Open the saved appointment and confirm the final status and source.
- Check the participant, provider, timing and timezone from the full detail page.
- Review the relevant table filter, calendar, history, report or linked invoice instead of relying only on a success message.
Controls, checks and common mistakes
- Do not grant administrator access merely to expose a menu.
- Verify both the role and the individual staff account.
- Separate menu visibility problems from empty-data or assignment problems.
- Use the least destructive correction and retain the appointment history when the booking existed operationally.
- Never bypass a permission, availability, approval, client-access or verification control by changing an unrelated route or setting.
