What information should I prepare before ordering a VPS?
Define the workload and operational requirements before choosing a virtual-server plan. CPU and RAM are only part of the decision: operating-system support, storage, network policy, management scope and recovery needs can determine whether the service fits.
Instructions
1. Describe the workload and access needs
Record the application, expected users, sustained and peak resource use, storage growth, required ports, region requirements and who will administer it. Identify whether the software needs Windows, a particular Linux architecture or special capabilities such as nested virtualisation.
2. Review the available Britixo service
In My Account, open Hosting Solutions and the VPS plans area. Compare the displayed specification and available billing terms with the requirement. Clarify any capacity, licence, management or recovery item that is not explicit.
3. Review the invoice and provisioning state
Choose the intended package once, review the generated subscription invoice and use its available payment flow. Creating an invoice, paying it and completing provisioning are separate stages. Wait for the service’s actual ready state and authorised connection details before attempting access.
Check the result
- The selected specification and agreed operational scope match the workload.
- The invoice and service status correspond to the intended order without duplicate submissions.
Troubleshooting
- The available plan does not meet a technical requirement
- Ask about that requirement before ordering; do not assume it can be enabled inside the guest later.
- The invoice is not visible immediately
- Check Billing & invoices and the displayed error or pending state before placing another order.
