Responsible operations / Britixo call centres

Respect the person on the other end of the call.

A campaign needs more than a contact list and a script. We agree the purpose, permitted audience and operating controls before agents begin the work.

Classify the conversation before launching it

Identify whether the call is marketing, a requested response or a genuine service communication. The substance of the conversation matters. Adding an offer to a service call can change its character. Explain the product, audience, territories and contact method so the actual campaign can be assessed.

Live human calls and automated recorded marketing have different rules. Some sectors, including certain pensions and claims-management marketing, have additional restrictions. Britixo’s published agent packages are for an agreed non-regulated campaign; specialist requirements need separate assessment rather than an assumption that a generic script makes them acceptable.

Put permission and objections into the workflow

ICO guidance explains that most unsolicited live marketing calls must respect TPS or CTPS registration and previous objections. Calling a registered number needs the relevant specific permission. Personal-data use also needs an appropriate UK GDPR basis and transparency. Business-to-business calling is not a blanket exemption.

Operationally, we need a documented data source, agreed screening responsibility and a reliable way to capture objections before the next attempt. Agents should introduce the business accurately, give the purpose clearly and use an authorised caller identity with a workable return-contact route. Attempt and callback rules should respect the contact’s response.

Define responsibility instead of promising blanket compliance

Agree who approves the audience, knowledge, screening, notices and suppression updates. Keep appropriate evidence of decisions and review changes to the offer or data source. A campaign that was suitable under one brief should not silently expand into a different purpose.

An illustrative launch checklist might block a record without required screening, route an objection to suppression and prevent the next scheduled attempt. That describes a control to design and test, not an assertion that any system automatically satisfies every legal obligation. Requirements depend on the campaign and current rules; no blanket compliance certification is implied.

Are B2B calls exempt from TPS and CTPS rules?

No. Relevant register screening and previous objections still matter. The correct assessment depends on the number, subscriber and campaign.

Can a supplier guarantee every campaign is legally compliant?

The campaign depends on both parties’ data, decisions and actions. Responsibilities and controls must be assessed for the actual service; a blanket claim would be misleading.
