Enable Human Resource Management permissions

Assign the nine Human Resource Management v1.3.0 capabilities through the staff role controls and verify the resulting menu and action access.

What you need before you start

  • Access to Admin Area → Setup → Staff → Roles and Permissions.
  • The Human Resource Management: View capability or administrator access.
  • The correct employee, record, period or evidence reference before making a change.

How to do it

  1. Open Setup → Staff → Roles and Permissions.
  2. Open the role used by the intended staff member, or create a dedicated HR role.
  3. Find Human Resource Management.
  4. Select only the required capabilities: View, Create, Edit, Delete, Approve, Export, Payroll, RTI and/or Settings.
  5. Save the role.
  6. Confirm the staff member is assigned to that role.
  7. Sign in as a controlled test user and verify the Human Resources menu, protected sections and action buttons match the selected capabilities.

Fields and options

ViewOpens the Human Resources root and read-authorised workspaces.
CreateCreates records in supported workspaces.
EditChanges supported records and document metadata/content.
DeleteUses implemented delete/void/withdraw controls.
ApproveDecides controlled employee-record amendments and approval workflows.

What the module checks

  • Do not grant administrator access solely to expose HRM.
  • The root menu requires administrator status or View capability.
  • Controller checks remain authoritative even when a button is hidden or manually addressed.
  • Apply least privilege and retest after every role change.

The result remains available from Admin Area → Setup → Staff → Roles and Permissions. Verify the final status, linked records and audit evidence.
