Which server problems are handled by support and which are my responsibility?
Support coverage follows the service you agreed, including any management package. Infrastructure faults, operating-system administration and application defects can have different owners. Identify the affected layer and provide evidence so the request reaches the right team.
Before you start
- The service reference and its agreed support or management scope.
Instructions
1. Identify the failing operation
Describe what the user cannot do, the affected hostname or service, when it started and whether all users are affected. Separate a missing customer-account service from a server access problem or an application error. Include recent relevant changes and a short, redacted error extract.
2. Check the responsibility boundary
Review who manages the physical platform, operating system, network policy, database and application. Ask about any unclear boundary before assuming that a provider will modify third-party code or that an application engineer can repair underlying hardware. Keep one owner coordinating problems that span several layers.
3. Use one support conversation
Britixo’s published route is My Account → Support tickets. Find an existing conversation first, or create a ticket with the appropriate department, priority and optional related service. Add concise updates to that ticket, including the server reference, impact and test results; keep passwords, tokens and payment details out of attachments.
Check the result
- The issue has an identified owner or an explicit escalation request.
- The support conversation contains enough non-sensitive evidence to reproduce or locate the problem.
Troubleshooting
- You are unsure which team owns the fault
- Report the observed symptom and tests without assigning blame. Ask for responsibility confirmation and coordination rather than opening duplicate tickets for each possible cause.
