How do I check server renewal or request cancellation?
Review the renewal information and applicable terms for the exact server service. Stopping a VPS does not cancel its subscription. If a cancellation control is not offered, request the change through support and obtain confirmation of the effective date and consequences.
Before you start
- The correct account, service reference and the relevant order or agreement.
Instructions
1. Confirm the commercial details
Check the service’s term and any related renewal invoice in My Account → Billing & invoices. Review the due date, amount and recorded payments. The separate Subscriptions guide describes software subscriptions; do not assume every VPS or dedicated-server renewal uses that same screen or process.
2. Request the intended outcome clearly
For a renewal question, identify the service and disputed date or charge. For cancellation, state the intended service and requested end date and ask about notice requirements, remaining charges and data handling under the applicable terms. Keep the request and response in one support conversation.
3. Prepare for the confirmed end date
Resolve application migration, domain/DNS dependencies, licences and required data retention before the agreed termination. Check whether linked services need separate instructions. After processing, verify the returned service and billing state rather than relying on a power-off action or an unanswered request.
Check the result
- The effective renewal or cancellation outcome is confirmed for the intended service.
- Data and dependent services are handled before access ends.
Troubleshooting
- The VPS is stopped but an invoice remains due
- Power state and subscription state are separate. Ask support to clarify the invoice and the confirmed cancellation status; do not assume stopping the machine ended charges.
