Create and manage an Accounting bank account
Add the bank or cash account used by feeds, registers, checks, transfers and reconciliation.
What this feature does
Add the bank or cash account used by feeds, registers, checks, transfers and reconciliation. It forms part of Britixo Enterprise CRM's Accounting & Bookkeeping module and uses the module's permission-aware controller, status and mapping flow rather than a generic spreadsheet process.
How the module flow works
Bank accounts are module records connected to ledger accounts. The controller provides bank-account list, data lookup and delete actions, plus Plaid connection and update actions.
A bank account can be used without Plaid by importing transactions or entering them manually.
Deleting a bank account with transaction history can damage reconciliation continuity; deactivate or retain it according to policy.
Step-by-step workflow
- Confirm the ledger account already exists in Chart of Accounts.
- Open Bank Accounts and choose Add.
- Enter the internal bank name and select the ledger account.
- Complete currency and bank reference details.
- Save and reopen the record.
- Configure a feed or import method if required.
- Verify the banking register and reconciliation starting point.
Important fields and decisions
What happens after completion
After the action is saved, Britixo keeps the Accounting record connected to its source and updates the visible status or ledger data supported by this workflow. Review the saved result rather than relying only on a success message. Where the action posts accounting data, total debits and credits must balance and the accounts must match the approved mapping or manual selection.
- Open the saved record and confirm its final status.
- Review the source reference and every debit and credit line where ledger data was created.
- Use the relevant register, ageing, reconciliation or report to verify the wider effect.
Controls, checks and common mistakes
- Do not create duplicate records for the same physical account.
- Protect account and routing information.
- Do not enter the opening balance twice.
- Review mappings that use the bank account.
- Use the least destructive correction available and record the reason for material changes.
- Do not bypass a permission, approval or closed-period control by changing unrelated data.
