Unmatch or correct a bank transaction
Remove an incorrect match and repair the Accounting or feed record without losing the original bank evidence.
What this feature does
Remove an incorrect match and repair the Accounting or feed record without losing the original bank evidence. It forms part of Britixo Enterprise CRM's Accounting & Bookkeeping module and uses the module's permission-aware controller, status and mapping flow rather than a generic spreadsheet process.
How the module flow works
The controller provides unmatch_transactions and unmatch_transaction actions. Unmatching changes the relationship, not necessarily the ledger lines.
If the existing Accounting transaction is wrong, correct or reverse it using its own workflow. If it is correct but linked to the wrong bank row, only the match needs correction.
Reconciliation history may need to be reopened or restored if the item was included in a completed reconciliation.
Step-by-step workflow
- Open the matched feed row.
- Compare the bank evidence and linked Accounting transaction.
- Use Unmatch through the supported action.
- Correct the source payment, transaction or mapping if necessary.
- Rematch to the correct record or add a new transaction.
- Reopen reconciliation and confirm the item state.
- Record the reason for material corrections.
Important fields and decisions
What happens after completion
After the action is saved, Britixo keeps the Accounting record connected to its source and updates the visible status or ledger data supported by this workflow. Review the saved result rather than relying only on a success message. Where the action posts accounting data, total debits and credits must balance and the accounts must match the approved mapping or manual selection.
- Open the saved record and confirm its final status.
- Review the source reference and every debit and credit line where ledger data was created.
- Use the relevant register, ageing, reconciliation or report to verify the wider effect.
Controls, checks and common mistakes
- Do not delete the bank row to remove a match.
- Do not leave both old and new transactions posted.
- Respect closed periods.
- Review bulk matches for other affected items.
- Use the least destructive correction available and record the reason for material changes.
- Do not bypass a permission, approval or closed-period control by changing unrelated data.
