How to search and import public business records
Use this guide in your Britixo workspace. Follow the Public Business Search workflow in Britixo to search and import public business records.
Before you start
Required access: Search approved public business sources. The module must be enabled and its installed version ready for your workspace. Select the intended taxpayer, authority and period before changing a record.
How to search and import public business records
- Enter Business name, ticker or CIK and select All configured sources, SEC EDGAR or SAM.gov.
- Choose Search and review the official-source results and provenance.
- Select Review and import record only for the intended entity.
- Inspect the resulting Tenant entity library record and resolve ambiguous matches before using it as a reference.
Controls and limits
- Only configured, permitted source adapters are available. Search is not a universal registry or tax-status verification.
- Import tokens are tenant/actor-bound and expire. Ambiguous entities must not be silently merged; public records do not supply private EIN or SSN evidence.
Check the result
Reopen the affected record and confirm the taxpayer, period, saved values and status. For external actions, inspect the actual authority acknowledgement or settlement evidence; a local saved or queued state is not acceptance.
If you cannot continue
Read the displayed validation or readiness message. Check the module version, role, source scope, authority, period and current approval evidence. If another person changed the record, refresh and review the current version. Give support the screen, error wording and correlation reference; keep passwords, one-time codes and tax identifiers out of public messages.
