Before you startNull-routing an IP can make services unreachable. Apply it only to the correct IP for a deliberate operational reason.

Follow these steps

  1. Select the VPS and inspect its Security and Networking information.
  2. To apply an available IP restriction, choose Null route IP and read the full confirmation, including any required phrase.
  3. To restore permitted connectivity, choose Remove null route for the affected IP and confirm the intended change.
  4. Use Enable service monitoring when offered and complete the fields returned by the provider.
  5. Check the result, server reachability and Activity after the action finishes. Use Notifications to configure supported alert rules.

Details that matter

Provider-specific actionsOnly operations returned for this service can be performed; the labels and required fields may depend on the provider.
Monitoring versus recoveryEnabling monitoring observes the service. It does not itself repair an outage.

Common questions

Will null-routing stop all traffic to that IP?

It can interrupt reachability for services using the selected IP. Read the specific operation details before confirming.

Why does an action require a phrase?

The confirmation helps ensure you deliberately selected the consequential operation. Type the phrase shown by the form.
