Before you start

Required access: Manage tax settings. The module must be enabled and its installed version ready for your workspace. Select the intended taxpayer, authority and period before changing a record.

How to set approvals, alerts and customer access

  1. Review each profile’s Approval policy and Filing authority model.
  2. Under Compliance notifications select in-app alerts and/or generic secure-workspace email alerts; choose Save notification policy.
  3. Under Governance & client access set Default maker/checker separation and Enable secure customer Tax Centre.
  4. Choose whether Tax Centre filing approvals are restricted to the CRM primary contact, then choose Save governance policy.
  5. Verify the intended staff capabilities and client ownership using the relevant authorised account.

Controls and limits

  • A single-approver policy is an explicit tenant-authorised exception, not a way to bypass required declarations.
  • View, prepare, adjust, calculate, reconcile, validate, review, client approval, agent approval, submit, amend, connection, agent, payment, sensitive data, evidence, audit, import, export, settings and rule permissions are separate.

Check the result

Reopen the affected record and confirm the taxpayer, period, saved values and status. For external actions, inspect the actual authority acknowledgement or settlement evidence; a local saved or queued state is not acceptance.

If you cannot continue

Read the displayed validation or readiness message. Check the module version, role, source scope, authority, period and current approval evidence. If another person changed the record, refresh and review the current version. Give support the screen, error wording and correlation reference; keep passwords, one-time codes and tax identifiers out of public messages.
