How to prepare Income Tax business updates
Use this guide in your Britixo workspace. Follow the Income Tax workflow in Britixo to prepare income tax business updates.
Before you start
Required access: Prepare tax filings; submit and approval permissions for filing. The module must be enabled and its installed version ready for your workspace. Select the intended taxpayer, authority and period before changing a record.
How to prepare Income Tax business updates
- Select Authority and choose Sync HMRC status, businesses & obligations.
- Check HMRC MTD Income Tax status and the business source identifiers.
- Choose the correct business, tax year and Cumulative quarterly update or Annual business update; choose Prepare frozen snapshot.
- Review the frozen filing, resolve validation/reconciliation blockers and obtain the required snapshot-specific approvals.
- Select the permitted HMRC authority for submission and inspect the resulting authoritative evidence.
Controls and limits
- Business sources, submission scope and tax year must match the mapping. A business identifier is not interchangeable with a taxpayer profile.
- A quarterly or annual business update does not itself complete the annual final declaration.
Check the result
Reopen the affected record and confirm the taxpayer, period, saved values and status. For external actions, inspect the actual authority acknowledgement or settlement evidence; a local saved or queued state is not acceptance.
If you cannot continue
Read the displayed validation or readiness message. Check the module version, role, source scope, authority, period and current approval evidence. If another person changed the record, refresh and review the current version. Give support the screen, error wording and correlation reference; keep passwords, one-time codes and tax identifiers out of public messages.
