Before you startOnly open your authorised phone workspace. Treat the username, authentication ID and password as private credentials.

Follow these steps

  1. Open SIP phone setup and choose the intended phone workspace or extension.
  2. Read the displayed extension, username or authentication ID, server, proxy, transport, port, encryption, codecs and registration limit.
  3. Reveal or copy credentials only through the permitted controls and enter the exact displayed values into your authorised SIP phone or softphone.
  4. Check device registration and the displayed service state. Viewing credentials alone does not mean the phone is registered.
  5. For browser or mobile calling, grant microphone access to the intended calling app when needed and check account calling permissions.
  6. If Use shorter login details is offered and you need it, read the confirmation. Choose Create shorter details only when you are ready to update every affected device; otherwise choose Keep current.
