Prepare and save an opportunity quotation
Select a price book, review authoritative product totals and save a draft before approval.
Where to goSales CRM → Deals → Open opportunity → Quotations → Prepare quote
Before you start
Use your own authorised staff account in the intended Britixo workspace. The Sales CRM module must be available and your role must include the permissions stated above. Existing leads, customers, communications and customer portal pages retain their normal access rules.
Follow these steps
- Open an active opportunity in an open stage. Confirm its currency, owner and linked relationship records are correct.
- Select Prepare quote and choose an active book in the same currency. Enter a title, valid-until date, percentage discount before tax and any quote notes.
- Select products and quantities. Add any required companions explicitly.
- Select Calculate & review. Read the chosen unit rates, quantity tiers, taxes, discount, total and approval requirement.
- If you change any input, calculate again. The previous review is cleared.
- Select Save draft quotation. Open its detail screen and select Submit quotation when the terms are ready for approval.
Behavior and limits
- A quotation supports 1–50 different products, and an opportunity supports 100 quotations including cancelled records.
- Validity must be today or within the next 366 days, using the workspace date. An expired draft must be refreshed before submission.
- Native product descriptions, units and taxes are included in the saved quotation. Book rates supply the unit prices. Client-supplied totals are never accepted as authoritative.
- Saving a draft does not send an email, change the deal value, create an estimate or record customer acceptance.
- The quote-create request is retry-safe for the same form and terms. A reused request with different terms is rejected.
Check it worked
- The saved detail shows Draft, the intended book version, the preparer and the expected total.
- Return to the opportunity and confirm the quote appears in Quotations and its save event appears in Deal history.
Troubleshooting
- No matching book means an administrator must create or activate a book in the opportunity currency.
- If the opportunity, product catalogue or book changed during review, calculate again before saving.
- If the deal is archived, Won or Lost, it cannot receive or approve a new quote. Follow the normal authorised deal process before changing its state.
