Update opportunity fields and owners in bulk
Apply a shared owner, forecast category, next step or expected close date using the normal record rules.
Where to goSales CRM → Deals → Select deals → Review change → Action
Before you start
Use your own authorised staff account in the intended Britixo workspace. The Sales CRM module must be available and your role must include the permissions stated above. Existing leads, customers, communications and customer portal pages retain their normal access rules.
Follow these steps
- Select the intended opportunities and open Review change.
- Choose Set forecast category, Set next step, Set expected close date or Change owner.
- Enter the shared value. To clear a next step or expected close date, leave its value empty and review whether each record allows that change.
- Preview each current and proposed value. For ownership changes, check that the intended staff member is active and eligible.
- Acknowledge and apply the reviewed change. Inspect results and reopen affected records when follow-up is needed.
Behavior and limits
- Change owner is available only to staff with View all deals as well as the bulk and Edit capabilities.
- The new owner must have Sales CRM viewing access and appropriate access to linked native customer and lead records. Bulk editing does not grant native permissions.
- Open opportunity activities follow a new owner. Existing native customer, contact and lead records are not reassigned by this operation.
- Next steps support 500 characters. Dates use the ordinary expected-close-date rules. Required stage and custom-field information must remain valid.
- Normal detail saves cancel pending stage approval requests and may trigger the first matching active Deal details saved automation.
- Bulk field changes do not alter deal amounts, currencies, custom-field values or quote commercial terms.
Check it worked
- Check the opportunity owner, forecast category, next step or close date after saving.
- For reassignment, inspect an open opportunity activity and confirm its owner follows the opportunity.
Troubleshooting
- An owner eligibility error requires checking active staff status, Sales CRM access and linked-record access.
- If clearing a date or next step fails, inspect the current stage requirements and complete the record individually.
- Archived opportunities must be restored before ordinary field edits.
